Business Development Director

What’s your role in One Consulting?

I’m the Business Development Director for One Consulting and my focus is on maintaining our established relationships and developing new ones.  I spend a lot of my time really getting to understand our clients so that we can deliver products and services that meet their strategic business objectives and truly transform their business.

What’s your background?

I’ve been working within the social housing sector for the past 16 years, providing business transformation and ICT consultancy. Prior to that, I’ve held business development roles within software providers and ICT infrastructure and service suppliers.   

You’re the longest serving member of the team… what’s been your favourite piece of work and why? [if this can be geared around client outcomes / greatest impact that’d be good]

I am and there have been many! The most rewarding projects are the ones that help our clients to deliver improved services to their customers and workforce. A recent one that has done this is a project we have delivered for Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership. This project centred around their digital strategy delivery, their applications portfolio and the underlying ICT infrastructure that was needed to support it. We undertook a review of the technology stack aligned to DGHP’s vision for modern service delivery and made recommendations on retention, development and replacement. The outcomes and technologies delivered, enabled DGHP to respond swiftly to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, allowing staff to access business systems and information to deal with customer contacts.   

What do you think makes One Consulting Different?

This means that our clients get an outcome that 100% matches their requirements delivered in a way that’s as unique as a fingerprint.

What are you most looking forward to over the next 12-months?

Coming out of the current difficulties that the pandemic is imposing on us all. I worry about the impact its having on our kids’ education, the elderly, and vulnerable people. We all know that Digital services and technologies can help to connect people and communities and I’m pleased that One Consulting is ideally placed to support organisations to do this.

I’m sure our followers would be interested to know more about you… tell us about yourself and maybe something that might surprise them.

I live in Leeds with my wife, two daughters and two cats. Whilst in South Africa I went free diving with great white sharks which was a crazy mix of emotions!

A Final thought… Although it may seem a long way off, we will emerge from the current COVID situation at some point. What is clear is that the risks that organisations need to consider are ever evolving and as such we need to stay agile and responsive to the global risks that affect business and the services they deliver. Any digital services need to be able to adapt to the changing circumstances that we face and support continued service delivery.
